The exit

Across the reviewed wallets, a seed backup is advertised as recovery without an in-app outage exit

Reviewed wallets advertise full control or non-custodial recovery, but a mnemonic supplies keys—not the current exit graph, fee UTXO, package relay, multi-day recovery state machine, or sweep. Their demonstrated mobile self-custody stops short of independent outage recovery. 12345

Technical and product details

  1. Claims

Blink says only the user can access funds; Primal says the user fully controls the bitcoin; Cake describes itself as completely noncustodial; and Blitz says the user has full control through the seed. 1234

11> **Self-Custodial** - Neither Blitz nor Spark has access to your seed phrase or funds. If you lose your seed phrase, access to your funds can be lost. Do not share your seed phrase with anyone.
  2. Implementation result

The dated wallet audit found no complete in-app flow across the eight reviewed surfaces. Blink, Primal, Radar, and Cake pin SDK generations older than Breez 0.23; Blitz preserves more exit state but exports execution to developer tooling. 5

  3. Core mismatch

A mnemonic recovers keys. It does not itself supply the current Spark transaction graph, external fee UTXO, package-relay access, multi-day state machine, or final sweep that outage recovery requires. 5

  4. Conclusion

Advertising the seed as complete non-custodial recovery overstates what the reviewed mobile products deliver. Their self-custody claim stops at signing authority and does not extend to independent recovery availability. 15

What this does not establish

  • This is bounded to the cited claims, source snapshots, binary surface, and review date. Separately engineered tools can exit when a complete current bundle and external fee funds already exist. 5
